What Our Clients Say

Our Personal Trainers

Shaun Smears

Owner/Fitness Trainer

Many know I am a personal trainer and owner of Raising the Bar Training and Performance… but what do I do & who do I help? The long and short of it is my specialty is making real world lifestyle changes to get you to the best physical, mental and emotional wellbeing you can. You see my industry is full of quick fixes, polarizing beliefs, marketing and supplements designed to grab your attention and make you think it is 14 days to a new you, or to pop a pill for success… I work to help busy men and women find balance with their lifestyle, schedule and goals. Develop a plan that is both effective and sustainable for them to reach their goals and maintain their new sought-after lifestyle. How do I do this?? I utilize a combination of nutrition, exercise, activity, supplements and stress relief to achieve the needed results. I work with my clients through constant communication, goal setting and choose the right methodology for them. This is key as we are not a one size fits all, what worked amazing for my last client may not fit your goals or lifestyle to get you there so we develop a plan for you!!

Here are the top 5 reasons you may not be getting results with your weight loss efforts:1. Inconsistent Nutrition: Failing to maintain a consistent calorie deficit or making poor food choices can hinder weight loss progress. Even if you're exercising regularly, consuming excess calories or relying on unhealthy foods can stall your results.2. Lack of Physical Activity: While nutrition plays a significant role in weight loss, physical activity is also crucial. If you're not exercising regularly or not challenging yourself with your workouts, you may not be burning enough calories to create the necessary deficit for weight loss.3. Underestimating Portion Sizes: Even if you're eating healthy foods, consuming too much of them can prevent weight loss. Pay attention to portion sizes and be mindful of calorie-dense foods, as they can add up quickly and sabotage your efforts.4. Inadequate Sleep: Poor sleep habits can negatively impact weight loss by affecting hormone levels related to hunger and appetite regulation. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night to support your weight loss goals.5. High Stress Levels: Chronic stress can lead to emotional eating, poor food choices, and disrupted sleep patterns, all of which can hinder weight loss progress. Practice stress management techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, or yoga to help reduce stress levels and support your weight loss efforts.By addressing these potential roadblocks and making adjustments to your nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management habits, you can overcome obstacles and improve your chances of achieving your weight loss goals. ...
